FAQ

You Have Questions. We Have Answers.

Do you take my insurance?

Hoffman Eyecare is an open-access provider. This means we do not directly contract with any vision care plans, such as VSP or Eyemed. As part of our service, we will provide you with our exam fees and your expected reimbursement prior to your visit as well as submit your out-of-network benefits to your vision care plan on your behalf at the conclusion of your visit. We are in network with most major medical plans. For additional information about our open-access philosophy click here.

Why are you an open-access provider?

Being open-access allows Hoffman Eyecare to provide our patients with exceptional concierge-style service and products of superior quality. This personalized care model allows Dr. Hoffman to spend more time with each patient – getting to know you while performing a very thorough eye examination. Time will not be a constraint for the doctor-patient relationship at Hoffman Eyecare. We promise you will not feel rushed at any point during your visit! Without the constraints of the vision plan contract, we are free to use our in-house lab and partner with independent frame and lens companies.

Is a higher out of pocket expense really worth it?

While our model may not be the perfect fit for everyone, if you want a unique and personalized eyecare experience, then we believe the answer to this question is yes. Dr. Hoffman will spend ample time with each patient to ensure all of their needs and concerns are addressed properly. We want our patients to feel as if they are family. While you will be paying a little more out of pocket, we find that after reimbursements most patients have only a slightly increased cost compared to what they would have at an in-network provider. It is our hope that if you come to Hoffman Eyecare for a visit, you will see the value in our unique approach.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes! Promotions change throughout the year, so please ask us about our current promotions. We also offer referral discounts and large family discounts.

What should I bring to my appointment?

New patient paperwork can be completed prior to your appointment or in our office (please arrive 15 minutes early). Please also bring your current glasses. If you wear contacts, please wear them to your appointment and bring your prescription. Please bring your medical insurance card!

Can I really get glasses the day after I buy them?

Yes! We cut most lenses at our in-house lab, so we can usually get your glasses to you in under 24 hours. Lenses with special technology can sometimes take a little longer to receive.

What is your referral program?

If you refer a new patient (excluding immediate family) to us and they come in for an exam, you will receive 10% off the purchase of a pair of glasses. This is on top of any other promotions.
